Assessing Readiness

Dive In & Try it OutGreen Circle

It’s Go-Time!

  • This should be done alone by a subset of members of the School Design Team. This is to ensure that the most honest responses are submitted.
  • It should take approximately 30-45 minutes to complete.
  • Following the assessment, the team will reconvene to discuss responses, determine any common themes, and complete a full snapshot of the preparedness for school redesign.

Step 4

Reflect on the data and plan how to engage the team. The assessment value lies in the team’s debrief discussions. Review the data, refocus on its purpose, highlight key data, and prepare discussion prompts.

Who Should Take the Assessment?

Anyone from the school staff who is invited to your School Design Team

Who is the School Design Team for this Assessment?

The School Design Team will be responsible for planning and leading the change effort on your campus. Assemble a diverse group that reflects your school community. For this initial stakeholder group, invite a variety of staff members who may be interested in joining your School Design Team in the long run. This diversity will enrich perspectives and enhance the effectiveness of the transformation process.

For example, you might include:

  • New teachers
  • Tenured teachers
  • Teacher leaders
  • Counselors
  • Special education staff
  • After school program educators
  • Support staff
  • Administrative personnel
