Synthesize Insights as a School Design Team

Now that you've explored the models and captured insights, you will synthesize what you’ve learned as a group.

You will use the following protocol to share insights, identify common themes, and discuss how these findings can guide your redesign efforts.

  • Share Key Takeaways (5 minutes): Each person briefly shares one critical insight from their exploration of the models, focusing on how specific design principles were applied and any evident conditions.
  • Identify Common Themes (5 minutes): As a group, identify common themes or patterns observed across the different models and design principles. Discuss how these themes relate to the conditions for successful redesign.
  • Discuss Application (10 minutes): Explore how these insights and themes can be applied to your school redesign. What specific design principles and conditions should guide your approach?

Share Back With Your Community

After synthesizing your insights from the models and design principles, the next step is to share these learnings with your community.

Communicating openly and regularly is crucial to building a strong coalition and informing everyone about our school transformation journey. This ongoing dialogue will help foster transparency, trust, and collective ownership. Let’s now concentrate on effectively sharing your findings and engaging your community in this process.

Use this Inspiration Summary Template to capture and organize your key insights from the models and design principles.

To ensure these insights resonate with your community, consider this with your community in various formats, such as a parent/caregiver newsletter, a parent/caregiver night presentation, or during a district meeting. Each venue offers an opportunity to engage different stakeholders, build momentum, and solidify the collective commitment to reimagining your school.
